Welcome to the 2025 City of Toledo Fun in the 419 Showcase Pass. The City of Toledo Parks and Youth Services is excited to bring you an interactive experience at this year's showcase.

We have created this pass to allow you to learn and earn (Points for Prizes). You will learn more about the programs and our excellent partners, who will bring various programming throughout the summer and year.

The pass is geared toward families and youth. You will only have the event day to finish all check-ins.

Feel free to tag any photos along the way with #SummerFunInThe419 so we can see your fantastic time.

You will have only today to redeem points to receive that specific prize.

Prizes are available at the small Parks and Youth Services Tent with the QR Code Signage in front of the shelter house.

We are dedicated to the effective management of Toledo’s green-spaces, and to providing programs, facilities, and opportunities to enhance the quality of life for all of our residents and visitors to Toledo.

Department Activities

  • Operate 125 City of Toledo parks and rental facilities for public gatherings.

  • Maintenance over 25 miles of walking paths and trails

  • Maintenance of 65 playgrounds.

  • Maintenance of more than 50 athletic fields and facilities, which include baseball and softball diamonds and tennis courts.

In collaboration with the Autism Society of Northwest Ohio, Inspired Lumber Workshop will facilitate Nailed It! Camp for ALL Woodworking and Crafting Workshops for neurodiverse children who receive services through the organization. These workshops provide a creative and inclusive space where kids of all abilities can express themselves and thrive. Through a wide variety of seasonal, hands-on activities, participants will develop fine motor skills, improve focus, and build confidence while creating projects they can be proud of. Each session is designed to offer real-life skill development, with participants actively engaging in the use of woodshop power tools and exploring a variety of crafting mediums. Some projects will focus on using tools in the woodshop, while others center around detailed, sensory-friendly crafting, ensuring a well-rounded and enriching experience. The structured, low-pressure environment promotes teamwork, & creativity. It’s not just about completing projects—it’s about fostering confidence, independence for every child.

Empowering Future Leaders (EFL): Shaping Tomorrow’s Trailblazers The Empowering Future Leaders (EFL) program is a dynamic summer experience designed to equip youth with the tools to succeed in school, career, and life. Centered around four key pillars: Life Skills, Leadership Development, Cultural Competence, and Career Development. EFL nurtures well-rounded, socially aware, and confident young leaders. Through hands-on, evidence-based learning, participants build decision-making skills, grow cultural awareness, and develop clear goals for the future. Each week features interactive workshops, engaging activities, and real-world insights. What sets EFL apart is its strong community connection. Community RE Investment Coalition - Englewood SW | Black Kings | Black Prince Mentorship Program
The Black Kings | Black Prince Mentorship Program empowers African American boys in Toledo’s Englewood and Junction Districts to overcome systemic barriers such as poverty, violence, and limited access to quality education. This nine-week, culturally responsive initiative serves 30 young men in grades 6–12, connecting them with positive role models through mentorship, leadership development, and project-based learning. Weekly sessions build academic confidence, life skills, and personal growth. Grounded in African American cultural values and aligned with Toledo’s “Peace in Motion” strategy, the program fosters resilience, supports violence prevention, and promotes community stability. Youth also explore careers, engage in civic projects, and participate in conflict-resolution training to prepare for future leadership. The program integrates the principles of Kwanzaa, celebrating milestones, reinforcing cultural identity. By providing structure, affirmation, opportunity, the Black Kings | Black Prince Mentorship Program prepares youth for academic success, career readiness, a lifelong commitment to leadership, service, community impact.

EmpowerHer is a transformative program empowering young girls to embrace their natural hair and foster self-confidence. Through workshops led by positive role models, girls learn proper natural hair care techniques, recite affirmations to internalize joy, understand how to develop a self-care plan, and build resilience to activate in tough times. By providing a supportive environment and emphasizing self-love, EmpowerHer equips participants with the tools to navigate the world with pride and authenticity.

First Tee - Lake Erie Summer programs provide children ages 7 - 18 with the opportunity to learn golf and character building skills with our trained and qualified coaches. All golf equipment is provided.
Girls Hub: A Seat at the Table
Girls Hub summer session offered a dedicated woodworking workspace in design and construction for girls and gender-expansive youth ages 11 to 17 through classes in carpentry, architecture, and activist art.
Go Tyme Grynd Lil Dogs Go
Go Tyme Grynd empowers future leaders through our fun Lil Dogs Go youth fitness program. Designed by elite fitness expert DeAndre "Coach Poo" Gaston—whose journey from tragedy to triumph inspires all ages—our program combines dynamic workouts, nutrition education, healthy meals, mentorship, and hands-on activities in a supportive space. Youth engage in energetic sports, creative fitness games, and group challenges that build endurance and strength, while interactive sessions shed light on the socio-political factors influencing food choices. Our dedicated mentors foster self-confidence and leadership skills, sparking joy, curiosity, and a passion for positive change.

God's Best Creation/Early Bird Basketball
We provide basketball training/leagues that are available to inner-city youth in the community. Players will have fun while learning the rules, strategies and fundamentals of the game; but we also focus on important life skills such as responsibility, teamwork, communication and leadership. Many of the volunteers are prominent people in the community. At the end of each session, time is set aside to give the volunteers opportunity to mentor to the participants.

Groomed for Greatness Ready, Set, Go Program
The program entails getting 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders ready in areas of math, reading and social studies/current events for the upcoming school year. The program is a month long and will be instructed by educators. High school and college students will be instructors and mentors for the program.

EVERY NOTE: Empowering Voices, Encouraging Resilience, Youthful Notes of Togetherness and Expression is an inclusive music program designed by licensed music therapists to bring children, teens, and families together through the power of music. With a focus on creative expression, emotional well-being, and family connection, this program creates a safe and welcoming space where participants can build conêdence, resilience, and meaningful relationships while discovering the joy of music. Humanity First USA The Education Project

The Education Project addresses socioeconomic disparities in education by providing personalized tutoring to nearly 200 students annually. Our four-week summer program in Toledo serves 30 students, offering individualized math and ELA support using IXL. Each tutor works with three students, balancing personalized instruction with collaborative learning. Sessions include Kumon Workbook practice in the first hour and personalized IXL skill plans in the second. Last year, students showed nearly two months of academic growth in both subjects. Our support continues year-round with weekly one-on-one virtual tutoring. The Toledo academic year program mirrors the summer model, featuring one hour of IXL practice per session. In Fall 2023, students demonstrated 0.78 and 0.65 grade-level growth in math and ELA, respectively, underscoring our program’s impact.

Explore engineering and innovation with Kool Kat Science at the public library! No kits or bricks here, just 100% kid-designed projects! Each child keeps their creations to proudly showcase their creativity and new skills! Following our Rookie Maker series, we will dive into Scratch, a free coding platform from M.I.T., to explore web animation and coding by harnessing your child's natural curiosity. The children will build a new game each week to gain important coding skills such as data and variables, loops and conditions, and events and multi-threading. To conclude their STEM exploration, students use the Quarky robot to tackle a different challenge with each activity as they begin to explore the possibilities that robotics presents in the world today.

Pathway Inc. BYOUth/SYOUth
BYOUth and SYOUth is the expansion of pilot program implemented in the Toledo Public Schools ( TPS). It is based on successful parenting program that has been offered to areas of poverty in Toledo, OH by Pathway for several years. The project will recruit qualified youth ( per TANF definition) who attend TPS located in our 10 most challenged neighborhoods including with high infant mortality. This one week program ( 8 hours) will include Love Notes 3.0 aims to encourage, in our youth, healthy relationship skills, overcoming adversity, pregnancy prevention and workforce readiness. We will also use Mind Matters ( also evidence-based). This program will teach people skills and practices that cultivate healing and clear away distractions to learning and creating and maintaining healthy relationships. It teaches people to heal from Adverse Childhood Experiences and other negative experiences with innovative methods.

The Church of Second Chances
The Church of Second Chances offers a safe, non-judgmental place for at-risk teens to go. We exist for three reasons: 1. To help the youth further their spiritual journey; 2. To help reduce the rate of recidivism at the Lucas County Juvenile Detention Center and 3. To help reduce the juvenile crime rate in Toledo. We do this through Bible study, discussion and fun activities. We want to show our kids there is more to life than the streets. And most importantly, everyone deserves a second chance!

Toledo Urban Volleyball Association
UrbanVolley 419 Volleyball Training Camp offers opportunities for boys and girls ages 6-16 interesting in learning how to play the sport of volleyball through individual and team skill development. Athletes will have the opportunity to train and learn these skill sets in both indoor and beach volleyball settings. Camp is offered for four weeks, Monday – Thursday in summer at the Reynolds Schools, Friendly Center & Wayman Palmer YMCA – Indoor and International Park for Beach. Athletes may attend one or all of the weeklong camps during the summer. This program is free to all participants.
