The Education Project addresses socioeconomic disparities in education by providing personalized tutoring to nearly 200 students annually. Our four-week summer program in Toledo serves 30 students, offering individualized math and ELA support using IXL. Each tutor works with three students, balancing personalized instruction with collaborative learning. Sessions include Kumon Workbook practice in the first hour and personalized IXL skill plans in the second. Last year, students showed nearly two months of academic growth in both subjects. Our support continues year-round with weekly one-on-one virtual tutoring. The Toledo academic year program mirrors the summer model, featuring one hour of IXL practice per session. In Fall 2023, students demonstrated 0.78 and 0.65 grade-level growth in math and ELA, respectively, underscoring our program’s impact.
